Thank You For Supporting Pride in the Park 2024!
On Saturday 25th May we gathered in Min Ryan Park for our fifth Pride in the Park celebration! Despite the Irish Summer weather, our celebrations captured the power of queer joy, community solidarity and coming together to create a space that recognises and embraces all corners of our vibrant community! Pride in the Park is a community-led event and can only be realised through the continued support of the organisations, performers, volunteers and community members whose contributions make the day possible!
We want to express our thanks for the continued support of Wexford County Council, Neuropride Ireland, the Order of Malta, All in One Event Hire, Trax, An Post, Wexford and Enniscorthy Amenity & Arts Grant Schemes. Thank you to all who made donations in support of our fundraising raffle on the day including Violet Moon, Wexford Book Centre, and the Ferrycarrig Hotel. And to artist Larry Dunne for designing our amazing Pride in The Park poster and Park Maps!
We were privileged to have an exciting lineup of local and visiting queer and allied performers entertaining us throughout the day including Andrei Boyd, Crimson, 12 Gauge Outrage, Bloco Garman, Anam Choir, and Acoustic Punk Advocacy Service. We’d also like to acknowledge the performers in this year’s line-up who unfortunately did not have the opportunity to take to the Pride in The Park stage this year due to adverse weather conditions. We want to acknowledge the investment of time and energy that was made in preparing performances by FDYS Orbit LGBQTIA+ Group, Recoil, Sam's Collective and the Wexford Pride Queer Chorus. Thank you to the 501st Legion for returning to Pride in the Park this year!
Thank you to the over 30 booths who joined us this year representing LGBQTIA+ and allied small businesses and local and national community organisations committed to advancing equality and social justice for LGBQTIA+ and communities continuing to be impacted by discrimination and marginalisation.
Thank you to Wexford Arts Centre for facilitating this year’s Pride in The Park After Party for its second year, featuring the talents of Disgraceful Cabaret including Poppy Descrace, Queenn Marie, Richard Joke, Kora Elle, Eric Shan, Chronic QT, with comedy from Ian Lynam and drag from Marco Fabulazio.
Our incredible team of volunteers make an invaluable contribution each year supporting our event preparation, throughout the day and in the take-down operation afterwards. It truly takes a village to run any community-led event and the day would not have been possible without their support!

How to Support Wexford Pride
Wexford Pride is a voluntary community organisation led by and for the LGBTQIA community in Co.Wexford. We do not receive annual funding from corporate or political bodies, this supports our ability to ensure the integrity of our work in line with our values and principles. As such, we rely on voluntary work and donations to support our work. This includes annual events like Pride in The Park and weekly community initiatives including peer support, community group spaces, the publication of our bi-monthly queer culture zine Aiteach and our website. If you would like to support our work you can now donate by visit wexfordpride.ie/donate.
Wexford Pride Soapbox Call to Action
Last year, we built upon our Pride in the Park celebration by staging a second Pride action through our Soapbox event on Wexford’s Quayfront. Through our Soapbox Action, we call to attention the necessity of continuing to fight for the realisation of social justice, equality and human rights for all corners of our LGBQTIA+ community and acting in solidarity with communities subjected to continued discrimination and marginalisation including including those who are neurodiverse or disabled, from the Traveller and Roma community, BIPOC, or gender non-conforming.
This year’s Pride Soapbox Call to Action will take place on Saturday 23rd June at 2PM in St Peters Square, Wexford town. This is a space for members of our community to speak to their experience of being LGBTQIA+ in Co.Wexford today. If you are interested in participating, please reach out via wexfordpride@gmail.com.
